Design Administration

 Design Objective:

The Design wing is responsible for the design related civil/mechanical and related electrical works pertaining to Water Resources Department, Punjab. The wing that combines all earlier Design wings of Water Resources Department has to its credit the design works of Anandpur Sahib Hydel Project, UBDC stage I & II, Mukerian Hydel Project, Ranjit Sagar Dam and various regulating structures, canals and drainage network and the allied appurtenant works within Punjab state. The office is presently looking after the design of RSD and Shahpurkandi Dam Project. it also look after design works such as L-Section, Cross Drainage Works, Bridges, Head Regulators, Cross Regulators and Apart from these works grant of NOC to the works related to canals to be carried out by other department, vetting of GAD's is also done for various Projects and Details Project Reports/MHP's Solar Power Projects is done in this section.

Works Executed by Variour Directorates:

 

  1. Director/Canals: Deals with all design wok such as L-section, cross drainage woks, bridges, head regulators, cross regulators and any other design related work related to Canal Administration.

 

  1. Director/Drainage: Deals with all design wok such as L-section, cross drainage woks, bridges, head regulators, cross regulators and any other design related work related to Drainage Administration respectively.
  2. Director/Power Plant: Design and Drawings related to Powerhouse-1 and Powerhouse-ii of Shahpurkhandi Dam Project. Design related works of O&M of powerhouses of Ranjit Sagar Dam Project.

Design issues of works of Tunnels & Penstocks of Ranjit Sagar Dam.

  1. Director/M&E: Approval of Design and Drawings related to Mechanical & Electrical components of Shahurkhandi Dam Project including work of powerhouses and other structures.

Design related aspects of Mechanical & Electrical works of O&M of Ranjit Sagar Dam Project .

Other Mechanical & Electrical design works of Canals and Drainage.

  1. Director/Dam Spillway & AW: Approval of Design and Drawings related to Shahpurkhandi Main Dam Projects, Shahpurkandi Head Regulator & Ravi Canal Head Regulator.

Design and Drawings related works regarding work of Aqueduct over Sukhral Khad, barrel to connect Shahpurkhandi Hydel Channel to Ravi, Works on Ravi Canal, protection works of Mukteshwar Mahadev Mandir, bridges on Shahpurkhandi Hydel Channel etc.

Design issues of Appurtenant works of Ranjit Sagar Dam Project.

 

 

  1. Director/Lift Irrigation & low Dams: This directorate deals with low Dams in Kandi Area.

Study field data and shall undertake all relevant design related works of the proposed new dams in Kandi Area.

Looks after the design work of repair and maintenance woks of already constructed low Dams in Kandi Area.

Responsible for Design of various lift Irrigation Projects to be executed within the state.
